Research

The division boasts one of the most productive research laboratories at UC Irvine, exploring novel therapies for cancer, transplant graft rejection, liver and pancreatic diseases. The laboratory also strongly supports research affiliated with the campus in Irvine, with numerous fellowships and awards being given to its members, including the Excellence in Research Award and 2002 Chancellors Award given to the best researcher in the School of Medicine. In fact, the laboratory has published more than 20 scientific papers over the past five years.

UC Irvine Division of Transplantation faculty and staff members are active in many areas of basic and clinical research related to kidney and pancreas function, transplantation, immunosuppression and islet cells.

  • A Phase IIB, Randomized, Multicenter, Open-Label, Concentration-Controlled, Safety Study of ISA247 and Tacrolimus (Prograf®) in De Novo Renal Transplant Patients (ISA05-01). Sponsored by Isotechnika, Inc. August 2006, UC Irvine Medical Center.
