Clinical Programs

UC Irvine provides a comprehensive range of transplant services, including living donor kidney donations. This allows patients who need transplants to receive a kidney directly from a relative or friend, rather than having to wait for a deceased donor organ to become available. Currently, most transplanted kidneys come from deceased donors, but kidneys donated by living donors function better and last longer than deceased donor kidneys. UC Irvine’s kidney and pancreas transplantation team offer the following services:

  • Kidney Transplantation
  • Laparoscopic Living Donor Kidney Transplantation
  • Laparoscopic Surgery (Nephrectomies)
  • Pancreas Transplantation
  • Kidney-Pancreas Transplantation
  • ABO-Incompatible and Positive Cross-Match Protocol
  • Postoperative Follow-Up Care and Immunosuppression Monitoring
